Ms Eleven

Magpie Tales
she was an eleven
in every way
idealistic and visionary

better than ten
the light bearer
and peacemaker

the master number
why then
was she so lost

she longed to be a three
or a five or even a seven
longing for conflict
and imperfection.

I've always been quite partial to the number 8, but 11's follow me everywhere.

I really like this, Joan! So much can be read into and through this poem. I see someone who longs to be less than her success allows.... Great poem!

I can well imagine an idealistic visionary "longing for conflict and imperfection" but, oh, what will she do when she achieves them?

... and why must she strive to be something she isn't? Eleven will do just fine. I like her .....

Talk about dissatisfaction; an 11 wants to be a 3, and I'll wager all who are a 3 want to be an 11. But I guess that's human nature.

She should take comfort! 3,5 qnd 7 are all prime. So at least she could claim to be a prime number.
